SATURDAY LEAGUE RESULTS
WOMEN'S TRIPS
The Ladies’ winners were AMBC’s Liesje de Rosner, Helen Turk and Maureen Lancaster.
Runners-up were Marianne van Buuren, Leoni Booth and Estelle Carter from Port Edward. In joint Third place were Ellen Cawker, Pam Cole-Cook and Trish Bell from Margate and Moira Humphrey, Rosemary Daniel and Annatjie Kidd.

The winners of the Men’s Trips were Port Shepstone’s Eddie Fann, Mark Smith and Howard Frizell.
Runners-up were Ken Tonge, Athol Roberts and Dieter Scholz from Margate. In joint Third place were Louw Vermeulen, Keith Harcombe and Steve O’Moore from The Bell and Brian Rawlins, Mark Bishoff and Kevin Lancaster from Port Shepstone.

NOVICE SINGLES
The eventual winner, after a tight match, was Nellis Hattingh from Southport.
The worthy, runner-up was Geoff Hudson from Port Shepstone with Jens Anderson from Port Edward third and Peter Anderson from Southport fourth. The Executive would like to thank everyone involved in making this such a successful tournament.

Men’s Fours winners were Chris Forward, Shane Nienaber, Athol Robertson and Jonathan Jacobson of Margate.
Runner’s-up were Phil Myburgh, Murray Ross, John Nadauld and Kevin Lancaster from Port Shepstone. Third place went to Louw Vermeulen, Keiron Dacey, Keith Harcombe and Trevor Celliers from The Bell and in fourth place were Duncan Randall, Hew Hodgson, Renzo van Niekerk and Eric Roberson, also from The Bell.

Third place went to Jessica Henderson, Ellen Cawker, Barbara Brook and Georgie McKechnie from Margate Bowling Club and in fourth place were Maureen Muller, Colleen Baker, Barbara Gradwell and Sharon Bischoff from Port Shepstone Country Club.

The weekend saw absolutely outstanding bowls played in the Mixed Pairs sponsored by The Ear Institute. The Semis and Finals were held at Southbroom with both games going down to the wire. The final results were winners Tammy Gibbins and Tony Aveyard from Umtentwini, runners-up were Ellen and Tom Cawker from Margate, third place went to Eddie Fann and Barbara Gradwell and fourth place went to Barry Delvin and Angela Moorhouse. MIDWEEK LEAGUE
It was a full house for A.M.B.C. last Wednesday in the long awaited finals of the Midweek League. Played in not the most favourable conditions, the intrepid competitors put on a brave display of top notch bowls. The winners of the Men’s competition were Barry Ainslie, Allan Grey, Henry Hampson, and Rowan Bird and the Women’s competition was won by Helen Turk, Jeanie Cousins, Anne Simpson and Maureen Lancaster both teams from A.M.B.C. – a really great result for that Club. This year's fundraiser was run by the District Players' Association. The weekend saw a lot of good bowls and good fun. The winners were Ken Tonge, Mike and Sandy Jeffery and Ann Waugh. Runners up were Barbara Fernihough, Hew Hodgson, Dawie Schlebusch and Charles Murgatroyd and third place went to Daphne Sapsford, Moira Humphrey, Lynette James and Helen Turk. MIXED FOURS

The Winners of the Women’s Section were Munster, Riverside were worthy runners-up, third place went to Margate “C” and Scottburgh were in fourth place. The Men’s Section was won by AMBC and runners-up were Banners Rest.
